A.      Main Competency
1.    Appreciating and being grateful of his/ her religion.
2.  Appreciating and putting into honest, discipline, responsibility, caring (tolerance,       mutual assistance), polite, confidence, in social and nature interaction effectively on social life and its existence.
3.    Understanding the knowledge (factual, conceptual, and procedural) based on the curiosity about knowledge, technology, arts, and culture related to the phenomenon and scene which looks real.
4.    Trying, processing, and presenting everything in concrete domain (using, explaining, stinging up, modifying, and constructing) and abstract    domain (writing, reading, calculating, drawing, and composing) in line with the material which has been learnt at school and other sources that are theoretically the same.

B.       Basic Competency
1.1    Being grateful for the opportunity to be able learning English as an international communication language which is embodied in the spirit of learning.
2.3    Showing responsibility, caring, cooperation and peace loving in doing the functional communication.
3.9    Analyzing the social function, text structure and language feature of the simple narrative text in the form of folktale based on the context.
4.15Capturing the meaning of oral and written narrative text about simple folktale.

C.      Indicator of Competency Achievement
1.    Showing the willingness in learning English related to the simple narrative about folktale.
2.    Showing politeness and confidence to do communication which is related to the simple narrative text about folktale.
3.    Identifying the social function, generic structure, and language features of simple narrative text about folktale.
4.    Completing the blank a simple narrative text based on the text is given.

E.       Learning Activity
1.    First Meeting (2 x 45 minutes)
a.    Pre-activity (10 minutes)
In pre-activity, teacher:
1) greets students friendly;
2) asks one of the students to lead the pray;
3) proposes questions about the materials which have already been studied and relates the previous materials with next materials;
4) explains the indicators of competency achievement which are going to be achieved in the learning process; and
5) delivers the outline of the materials and explains about the activity which is going to be conducted.

b.   Whilst-activity (40 Minutes)
1)   Observing
In observing activity, teacher:
-  asks the students to read narrative text entitled ‘The Legend of Banyuwangi’ on the handout; and
- guides the students to identify the social function, generic structure, and language features of the narrative text.
2)   Questioning
In questioning activity, teacher:
-   stimulates the students to ask questions about narrative text which has already been read (social function, generic structure, language features); and
-  facilitates and answers the students’ questions (Teacher answers the students’ questions while explaining the concept of the texts which are going to be learnt).
3)   Exploring and Associating
In exploring and associating activity:
-    asks the students to explore more about the narrative text and read the concept of the text on the handout;
-    asks the students to identify the social function, generic structure, and language features of the narrative text entitled “The Legend of Surabaya” on the Student Worksheet 1 which has already been distributed and answer the question (Think);
-    Divides students into some pairs and asks them to discuss in pair what they have already done in the previous activity (Pair).
4)   Communicating
In communicating activity, teacher:
-   guides every pair to share the result of their discussion about the social function, generic structure and language features of the descriptive text “The Legend of Surabaya”  to all of the students in the class (Share).

c.    Post-activity (30 minutes)
In post-activity, teacher:
1)  and the students summarize the learning material;
2) and the students identify the obstacles which are faced during the teaching learning process (reflection);
3) gives feedback and reinforcement on the students’ statements about their obstacles in understanding the material;
4) gives an assessment on their understanding (knowledge) (Assessment Sheet of Students’ Knowledge Item No. 1 and 2);
5) asks one of the students to lead the pray before ending the class.

2.    The Second Meeting (2 x 45minutes)
a.    Pre-activity (5 minutes)
In pre-activity, teacher:
1)   greets students friendly;
2)   asks one of the students to lead the pray in English;
3)   proposes questions about the materials which have already been studied and relates the previous materials with next materials
4)   explains the indicators of competency achievement which are going to be achieved in the learning process; and
5)   delivers the outline of the materials and explains about the activity which is going to conduct.

b.   Whilst-activity (50 Minutes)
1)   Exploring and Associating
In exploring and associating, teacher:
-       Proposing some questions about the material which has already been studied in the first meeting (the material about simple present tense in procedure text).
-       asks the students to complete the blank of narrative text entitled “The Legend of Batur Lake” on the Student Worksheet 2 which has already been distributed;

2)   Communicating
In Communicating activity, teacher:
-       asks some students to present the result of completing the blanks in front of the class.

c.     Post-activity (35 minutes)
In post-activity, teacher:
1)   and students conclude teaching and learning process;
2)   gives an assessment on their performance (skill) (Assessment Sheet of Students’ Performance);
3)   and students identify obstacles which are faced during the teaching learning process (reflection); and
4)   gives feedback and reinforcement on students’ statements about their obstacles that are faced.
5)   asks one of the students to lead the pray before ending the class.
